The Roswell UFO Festival

Since 1996, thousands of alien enthusiasts, both sceptics and true believers, have descended upon Roswell every July to celebrate the long‑standing mystery of the 1947 Roswell Incident at the Roswell UFO Festival.
This four‑day event takes place over the US Independence Day weekend in and around the Roswell Convention Center and downtown Main Street in Rosswell, New Mexico.

What’s On
Abduction Parade & Costumes
Kick off the festival with a procession of floats, aliens, UFOs - and spectators in cosmic costumes. Dress to impress and join in the fun - creative pets also compete via community‑voted categories!
Panels & Talks with UFOlogists
Join discussions led by UFO experts, topics range from “Are aliens demons?” to discussions about alleged abductions. In past years, notable figures like Travis Walton have made appearances.
Cosmic Car & Bike Show
Take in rides with an alien theme - muscle cars, custom choppers, and more on display (often free entry) .
Kids’ Zone & Family Activities
Perfect for families with inflatables, alien crafts, interactive games, and face painting designed for the young and the young‑at‑heart .
International UFO Museum Tours
Explore Roswell’s iconic museum and research centre founded in 1991, housing everything from crash artefacts to immersive exhibits.

Local bands and UFO‑themed acts play at the festival, like the group UFOetry, performing around Pioneer Plaza and other venues.
Vendors, Souvenirs & “Martian Turds”
Browse stalls selling alien memorabilia, space‑themed treats, including quirky desserts understandably dubbed “Martian turds".
