La Mamounia Hotel, Marrakesh from Inventing Anna
In Inventing Anna, the hit drama based on a real story, Anna Delvey’s trip to Morocco was so extravagant that it almost seemed impossible. Viewers get their first glimpse into fictional Anna’s (Julia Garner) doomed (but gorgeous) vacation to the Mediterranean through the eyes of protagonist Vivian Kent (Anna Chlumsky) and lawyer Todd Spodek (Arian Moayed) at the beginning of the sixth episode, “Friends in Low Places.”
The subsequent episode-long flashback of Anna’s flight to Morocco is one of the highlights of Inventing Anna — and the result of months of work from the miniseries’ team. It’s a project that led the cast and crew in the exact footsteps of the real Anna Delvey.
The Hotel: La Mamounia treats you to a wonderfully soothing soundscape, a refreshing welcome drink on arrival, sweet and savoury delicacies by Pierre Hermé, traditional Moroccan dishes by Chef Rachid Agouray, and wonderfully refined Italian and Asian specialities by Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. Their excellence is the result of tireless endeavour, the unfailing commitment of 800 employees, constant self-questioning, and innovations that are daring yet respectful of the past.
